Offshore bookkeeping staffing

Hire remote bookkeepers who close the month cleanly

We place remote bookkeepers with US companies as international contractors engaged through us. Your bookkeeper works only your books, reports to whoever owns the close, and shows up in your reporting line. Recruiting outside the US widens the pool and stretches the budget you set for the seat.

Tell us what you need

We test on a month that does not tie out

The skills gate for a bookkeeper is a set of books with problems in it. Unrecorded deposits, a bank feed that double-posted, an old uncleared check, a suspense balance nobody explained. We want to see how the candidate finds the break, what they fix themselves, and what they flag instead of guessing. Tidy books tell you nothing about a bookkeeper.

That test is one of five gates. The others are identity and work history, language proficiency, reference checks, and a look at the workspace and security posture the person will be working from. All five run before a candidate reaches your calendar, which is why we are slower than firms that forward resumes and why the interviews you do run are worth the hour.

A deeper bench of remote bookkeepers than your zip code

This gets solved one of two ways. You hire locally and pay a full US salary for a seat that is busy at month end and quiet in the middle, or you buy hours from a local firm and get pieces of three different people, none of whom learn your chart of accounts. Neither gives you one person who knows your books.

Recruiting internationally changes the arithmetic. We recruit in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and South Africa, where accounting support is a common career track and an international contractor costs a fraction of a comparable US hire. The rate is strong and competitive in those markets. The model works on the gap between labor markets, not on paying anyone badly, and the practical effect is that a dedicated bookkeeper stops being a seat the budget cannot justify.

Bookkeeping sits below our senior technical band, so we do not publish a rate for it. We quote the seat per role, after we know your transaction volume, your systems, how many entities you run and what you expect the person to own at close. You get one monthly invoice for it.

Your general ledger should not live on a personal laptop

A bookkeeper touches everything: bank feeds, card statements, payroll registers, customer and vendor records. If you are going to put that in the hands of someone working from another country, the machine matters as much as the person. That is what our one optional add-on covers. It is a single package, priced separately from the seat, not a menu of extras.

The bookkeeper works inside a US-hosted virtual desktop, so your accounting data stays on US infrastructure. Access runs through one place and is switched off the day an engagement ends, without chasing files on a personal machine. Productivity and activity monitoring is part of the package, disclosed to the contractor and written into their agreement. The endpoint is managed as well: protection, patching, threat detection and response.

Where a remote bookkeeper is the wrong hire

We are not a CPA firm. If what you actually need is someone to sign a return, issue financial statements you can hand a lender, or give you an opinion on the treatment of something, hire an accountant. A bookkeeper keeps the ledger clean and the close on schedule. That is a different job, and pretending otherwise would cost you more than it saved.

Two other things worth saying. If nobody on your side has time to answer questions in the first few weeks, the seat will not work, because a dedicated contractor is trained by your team rather than dropped in finished. And this seat does not convert to your payroll. Contract to hire and direct placement exist here, but only for Tier 3 technical and management roles.

What you get

Included in every engagement

Payroll and billing seats too

The same arrangement covers a payroll administrator or a billing specialist. Scope the seat, run the gates, one monthly invoice, the person reporting to your finance lead.

$500 to open a search, credited back

The deposit comes off your first month's invoice once your bookkeeper starts. A completed placement costs nothing for the search itself, and there is no placement fee.

Wrong fit inside 90 days

We run the search again and waive the $500 on the replacement. After that the bookkeeper is still engaged through us, so keeping the seat filled stays our problem.

One invoice, no foreign payroll

The contract sits with us. You pay us monthly, we pay the contractor, and we carry the contracting and compliance obligations in the country they work from.

Short commitment, long horizon

You commit to 90 days when the contractor starts. The model is built for a seat you keep filled a year or more, which is when the training you put in pays back.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you charge a placement fee for a remote bookkeeper?

No. A search opens with a $500 deposit and that deposit is credited back against your first month's invoice once the bookkeeper starts, so the search itself ends up costing nothing on a completed placement. We earn on the monthly rate you pay for the seat, not on making an introduction, which means our incentive is a person who is still doing the close in month nine.

Can we move the bookkeeper onto our payroll later?

Not for this role. Contract to hire and direct placement are available for Tier 3 technical and management seats only, and bookkeeping sits below that line. Your bookkeeper stays engaged as a contractor through us for as long as you keep the seat, reporting to your managers and working only your books. If a Tier 3 or management seat comes up elsewhere in your business, those options are on the table there.

Which accounting systems will they work in?

Whatever you run. The stack goes into the scope before we recruit, and the skills test is built around it rather than around a generic exercise, so you are not teaching someone your system from zero in week one. Tell us what you use, how many entities sit in it, and what the close looks like now, and we will write the seat against that.

What hours does the bookkeeper work?

Hours are part of the scope, not an afterthought. We agree the overlap you need with your team before the search opens, and recruit in a region that can hold it. The regions we recruit from are the Philippines and Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and South Africa, and the realistic overlap differs between them, so we tell you which one fits your close calendar.
