Staffing & recruiting

A global talent pool, at a fraction of US cost.

Pacific Cloud Cyber places technical and administrative contractors with companies across the United States. Recruiting internationally widens the pool from dozens of available candidates to thousands and costs a fraction of a comparable domestic hire, so your budget reaches the person you actually wanted — screened through five gates before you spend an hour interviewing.

  • A fraction of US cost
  • Thousands of candidates
  • Five screening gates
  • Coverage in your hours
  • Placing across the US

Why we recruit globally

A bigger pool, and a budget that reaches further into it

Two things limit a hire: how many qualified people are available to you, and what you can afford to pay one of them. A domestic-only search constrains both at once. On the week you need a SOC analyst or an AP specialist, the pool within driving distance is a couple of dozen people, many of them are not actually looking, and the ones who are cost more than the role was budgeted for.

Recruiting internationally changes both numbers. The pool goes from dozens to thousands, and an international contractor costs a fraction of a comparable US hire — so the budget that covered a compromise now covers the person you actually wanted. Same standards, same screening, same accountability.

  • Your budget sets the calibre, not the compromise. An international contractor costs a fraction of a comparable US hire. The same money that stretches to one mid-level domestic employee often reaches the senior person you actually wanted, or the second pair of hands the workload has needed all year.
  • A pool measured in thousands, not dozens. The bottleneck in hiring is rarely the interview. It is that too few qualified people are looking near you in the week you need one. Recruiting globally turns a shortlist of whoever happens to be available locally into an actual choice.
  • Paid well where they live. A fraction of your domestic cost is still a strong, competitive rate in the markets we recruit from. That gap between markets is the whole basis of the model, and it is why the people we place stay: nothing here depends on anyone being underpaid.
  • Coverage around the clock. Time zones stop being a problem and start being a feature. Overnight monitoring, an early-morning support queue, and follow-the-sun escalation become staffing decisions rather than overtime.

Screening

Five gates before you see a resume

Anyone can forward you a stack of CVs. The value is in what happens before that, and in how many people do not make it through.

  • Identity & work history

Government ID verification and a confirmed employment history, checked against what the resume claims.

  • Language proficiency

Spoken and written English assessed against the level the role actually needs, whether that is a client-facing support queue or an internal engineering standup.

  • Role-specific skills testing

A practical assessment built for the role: a ticket triage scenario, a security alert to work, a code exercise, a reconciliation, or a live inbox.

  • Reference checks

Direct conversations with prior supervisors, not a form letter and a date range.

  • Workspace & security posture

Verified connectivity and power redundancy, a private working area, and a device and access posture that satisfies your security requirements.

How to work with us

Four ways to engage

Staff augmentation is our core model: the contractor works your account, reports to your managers, and is engaged through us, so you get one invoice and a ninety-day commitment. The two conversion models are open to Tier 3 and management seats only.

Our core model

Staff augmentation

Our core model. The contractor works your account and only your account, reports to your managers, and sits in your reporting line like any other member of the team. The contract sits with Pacific Cloud Cyber: you pay us one invoice, we pay the contractor, and we carry the contracting and compliance obligations in their country.

Commit to the first 90 days of fees and nothing longer. We scope the seat to stay filled for a year or more, but that is how we build it, not what you sign.

Dedicated team

The same arrangement across a whole function rather than one seat: a multi-person pod hired to a single spec, working as a unit under one point of contact and one invoice.

Best for standing up an entire function, like a service desk or an AP team.

Tier 3 & management only

Contract to hire

Tier 3 technical and management seats only. Start with the contractor engaged through us on staff augmentation, then bring them onto your own payroll once they have proven the fit.

Available for Tier 3 and management roles, and useful when the role is new or the bar is hard to describe on paper.

Tier 3 & management only

Direct placement

For senior seats only — Tier 3 technical roles and management — we will run the search and let you bring the person onto your own payroll directly. Priced per search rather than as a monthly rate, and quoted per role.

Available for Tier 3 and management roles. We do not offer it for Tier 1, junior, or administrative seats.

The process

From “we need someone” to someone starting

01

Scope the role

We work through what the person will actually do day to day, the tools they have to know, the hours they need to cover, and what “good” looks like in ninety days. Vague requirements are the fastest way to a placement that does not work, which is why this step is heavier than it looks.

02

Source globally

We recruit from an international bench rather than a single local market, which widens the pool from dozens of available candidates to thousands and keeps the search moving when a domestic one would stall.

03

Screen and test

Verified identity and work history, spoken and written English assessment, and role-specific skills testing against the tools and scenarios the job actually involves. This gate is where the screening does its work.

04

Check the workspace

A remote professional is only as reliable as their desk. We confirm connectivity, power backup, a private working space, and a device and security posture that meets your requirements before we present anyone.

05

You interview

You meet a short list, not a stack. Every person you talk to has already cleared screening, testing, and the workspace check, so your time goes to judging fit rather than filtering noise.

06

Place and onboard

We handle the contract, the payment arrangements, and the compliance paperwork, then stay in the loop through onboarding so the first month is a ramp rather than a scramble.

Optional add-on

Is the work getting done, and is our data safe?

Those are the two fair questions about hiring someone you will never meet, in another country, with access to your systems. Every placement includes hiring, people management, and replacement cover as standard. One optional package — Secure remote workstation — closes the rest of the gap.

US-hosted virtual desktop, so company data never lands on a personal machine

Access controlled centrally and revocable on the day an engagement ends

Productivity and activity monitoring, disclosed to the contractor and written into their agreement

Managed endpoint security: protection, patching, threat detection, and response

Questions

Frequently asked

What does Pacific Cloud Cyber do?

Pacific Cloud Cyber is a staffing and recruiting firm that places two kinds of people: technical professionals (IT, cybersecurity, software development, and project management) and administrative professionals (executive assistants, accounts payable and receivable, customer service, and related support roles). We recruit internationally and place candidates with companies in the United States.

What roles does Pacific Cloud Cyber place?

On the technical side: service desk technicians, systems and network administrators, cloud engineers, SOC analysts, security and GRC analysts, software developers, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, project managers, and business analysts. On the administrative side: executive and virtual assistants, accounts payable and accounts receivable specialists, bookkeepers, payroll administrators, customer service representatives, data entry specialists, and sales and marketing support.

Where do Pacific Cloud Cyber candidates come from?

We recruit internationally rather than from a single local market. That is the point of the model: it turns a pool of a few dozen available candidates into a pool of thousands, so a hard-to-fill role stops being a hiring freeze.

Who holds the contract, and who pays the person?

On our core model, staff augmentation, the professional is engaged as an international contractor through Pacific Cloud Cyber. They work as part of your team and to your priorities, but the contract is with us: you pay Pacific Cloud Cyber one invoice, and we pay the contractor and carry the contracting and compliance obligations in their country. You get the team member without taking on a worker in a jurisdiction you do not operate in. Direct placement is the exception, and a narrow one: for Tier 3 technical roles and management seats we will run the search and let you bring the person onto your own payroll instead, priced per search. We do not offer it below that level.

What does an international contractor actually cost compared to a US hire?

For senior and Tier 3 technical roles — SOC analysts, security engineers, senior systems and network engineers — you are looking at $3,500 to $4,500 a month. That is the all-in monthly rate you pay Pacific Cloud Cyber, and it covers the contractor, the contracting and compliance work, and the people management around the seat. Administrative and junior technical roles sit below that band and we quote them per role. Compared with the fully loaded cost of a comparable US employee once salary, payroll taxes, benefits, and overhead are counted, it is a fraction, and that difference is what gives a budget room. Worth saying plainly: the rate is a strong one in the markets we recruit from. The model works on the gap between labour markets, not on anyone being underpaid.

How fast can you present candidates?

Slower than a firm that forwards you resumes, and that is deliberate. Our intake is heavier at the front: we scope what the person will actually do, then recruit against it and run every candidate through five screening gates before you see a shortlist. That costs time before the first interview and saves it afterwards, because you are interviewing people who can do the job rather than filtering a stack. We will not quote you a time-to-shortlist. It depends on the role and the seniority, and a number invented to win the meeting is a number missed later.

How long are engagements?

You commit to the first 90 days of fees when the contractor starts, and that is the whole commitment. Nothing longer is signed up front. That said, the model is designed for seats you expect to keep filled for a year or more: recruiting internationally and getting someone productive inside your systems is an investment that pays back over a year and does not over a fortnight. If you need short-term or seasonal cover, we are honestly not the right firm.

How does Pacific Cloud Cyber vet candidates?

Five gates before a client sees anyone: identity & work history, language proficiency, role-specific skills testing, reference checks, workspace & security posture. Screening is practical rather than conversational: candidates are tested against the tools and scenarios the job actually involves, and the elimination happens before a client ever sees a resume.

Do you place administrative roles as well as technical ones?

Yes, and they are a full practice rather than a sideline. Executive assistants, accounts payable and receivable specialists, bookkeepers, payroll administrators, customer service representatives, and data entry and order processing staff are all roles we place regularly.

How do you work with MSPs and internal IT teams?

Both are core to what we do. MSPs use us to scale a service desk, a NOC, or a SOC without adding domestic headcount; internal IT teams use us to fill a role that a local search has not been able to close, or to add coverage outside business hours.

What is included in the fee, and what costs extra?

The monthly rate covers the search itself (scoping, international recruiting, and all five screening gates), the contractor, and the people management around the seat — contracting, onboarding, invoicing and payment, time and attendance, and offboarding. A search opens with a $500 deposit, which is credited back against your first month's invoice, so completing a placement costs you nothing for the search. One thing is optional and priced separately: a secure remote workstation package, which bundles a US-hosted virtual desktop, productivity and activity monitoring, and managed endpoint security.

How do I know a remote international hire is actually working, and that our data is safe?

Two answers, and they come in the same package. The optional secure remote workstation gives the contractor a US-hosted virtual desktop rather than a personal machine abroad, so company data stays on US infrastructure and access is revocable the day an engagement ends. The same package carries productivity and activity monitoring, which reports whether your team member is at their desk during the hours you are paying for; the arrangement is disclosed to the contractor and written into their agreement. Managed endpoint security, patching, and threat detection are included in it too. It is priced separately from the seat.

What happens if a placement does not work out?

Tell us early. If the fit is wrong inside the first 90 days we run the search again and waive the $500 deposit on the replacement, so you are not paying a second deposit to start over. We will not put a number on how long a replacement takes, because it depends on the role and we would rather under-promise than miss a date we invented. Beyond the guarantee window the contractor is still engaged through Pacific Cloud Cyber, so keeping the seat filled stays our responsibility rather than a new search you commission.

Where does Pacific Cloud Cyber operate?

Pacific Cloud Cyber places talent with companies across the United States, and recruits candidates internationally. Pacific Cloud Cyber is fully distributed and has no headquarters. That is deliberate: every professional we place works remotely, and so does everyone here, so we are not asking clients to try a working model we have not committed to ourselves. Because both the recruiting and the roles are remote, your location is not a constraint on who we can find for you.

Is Pacific Cloud Cyber part of a larger group?

Yes. Pacific Cloud Cyber is part of the Koine Cyber family of technology companies, where it is the People practice alongside sister companies working in managed IT, cybersecurity, and business strategy. That means the people screening technical candidates work alongside teams that run those functions for a living.
